It’s time for the next episode of the #BlackBlogsMatter / #BlackPodsMatter challenge, and today’s topic is “The 92% vs Everybody.”
If you don’t know, the 92% represents the 92% of Black women who voted for Kamala Harris. Because we always show up when it matters.
Yet, the way Kamala was treated throughout her campaign—and even after—is a sharp reflection of how Black women are treated every single day. We’re the most educated and experienced group on the planet, yet we’re constantly questioned, underestimated, and dismissed. And when we still manage to rise above it all, we’re expected to keep carrying everyone else.
I’m here to tell you: Black women owe nothing. Not our time, not our labor, not our energy. We have done more than our fair share, and we are prioritizing ourselves from now on.
